How To Book Your Convention Transportation

Conventions are a great way to learn more about your industry and grow as a professional, to expand your company’s horizons, and to make connections with other professionals and companies within your industry. Whether you’re attending a local convention or flying in from out of town, Trinity Transportation can help you with your convention transportation needs, and we’re here to walk you through the process of booking it!

  1. Define the size of your group and the type of transportation you will need. How many people will you require transportation for? Is there anyone who needs a handicap accessible vehicle?   2. Visit our convention services page. After completing the first step, take a look at our convention services page for more information about what we offer for conventions and to view vehicle recommendations. You can also visit our fleet page for our full range of vehicles.
  3. Request a quote. Once you know your group size and needs and have a type of transportation in mind, the next step is to request a quote! To do so online, you can follow the steps in our convenient blog post. If you would rather request a quote over the phone, you can reach one of our experienced reservations specialists at 877-284-4200.
  4. Converse with a reservations specialist. After requesting a quote online, one of our reservations specialists will reach out to you to discuss your convention transportation in more detail. They will assist you in determining which vehicle is best for you and will discuss availability and pricing.
  5. Finalize your convention transportation. Once you have found the perfect vehicle for your convention and chat with our reservations specialist, you can finalize the booking of your transportation! We will secure the requested transportation for the date(s) and time(s) needed, and you will receive an email confirmation.

What Is the Cedar Point Line Run?

It’s almost summertime and the Cedar Point season is upon us! The park is open and our motor coach is waiting for you! We offer trips to Cedar Point on our Cedar Point Line Run every year during the park’s open season…but what exactly is the Cedar Point Line Run? We’re here to explain it to you and how to book your tickets for round trip transportation and park admission. Easy peasy!

What is the Line Run?

Our Cedar Point Line Run offers round trip transportation to Cedar Point in one of our luxury motor coaches and park admission for around the same price as gate ticket prices! We have two options available for purchase: round trip transportation with park admission for $79 or round trip transportation only for $39. Our motor coach will pick you up at one of our pick-up locations, take you to the park where you’ll arrive by 10am and get to stay all day, then depart the park at 9:30pm. The Line Run gives you three opportunities a week to make a trip: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday! Trips on our Cedar Point Line Run for this year start on June 16th. A full day of fun – and you don’t even have to worry about driving!

How to Reserve Your Spot on the Cedar Point Line Run

  1. Visit the Cedar Point Line Run page on our website. This website lays out all of the information on our Cedar Point Line Run, including pick-up locations, motor coach specs, and guidelines.
  2. Determine the type of ticket you want. You can choose to purchase round trip transportation with park admission for $79 or round trip transportation only for $39. All guests in your group do not need to purchase the same tickets!
  3. Choose your date and pick-up location. With trips running three days a week and four Metro Detroit pick-up locations, you’re bound to find a trip that works for you! Take a peek at your calendar and choose a date that fits your schedule, then select a pick-up location that works best for you.
  4. Call us to reserve your spot. We’re here to take your Cedar Point Line Run reservations Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Call us at 888-995-8565 and we will happily assist you! Please have your credit/debit card ready for payment. When calling, we will ask for the following information: the name on your credit/debit card, billing address, phone number, email address, names of everyone attending, what type of tickets you will be purchasing for each guest, date of trip, pick-up location, and your credit/debit card information. Please have these items ready to go when you call!
  5. Mark your calendar. After you call to reserve your spot, you are all set! You will receive an email confirming the details of your order shortly after the call is complete. Once we have your information, we will put you and your guests on the manifest. On the day of your trip, our motor coach will pick you up at the pick-up location you selected. Please bring your driver’s license or other form of identification so you can check in with the driver. Upon boarding the bus, the driver will check your name off on the manifest and hand you your park tickets (if you purchased the $79 option). After that, it’s off to the park you go!

Traveling to and from the airport can be stressful, especially when trying to make it there with enough time for check-in and TSA. Leave the transportation to Trinity so you can relax during your airport commute! With our wide range of vehicles, we are able to accommodate your every need, from small to large groups, along with handicap accessible vehicles.

How to Become a Motor Coach Driver

Being a motor coach driver is an interesting career filled with travel, meeting new people, and servicing your community. It can be fun and rewarding, and take your career to new heights…but how do you get started? We’re going to walk you through the requirements for and process of becoming a motor coach driver, so you can be prepared to apply at Trinity Transportation!

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Michigan commercial driver license (CDL) A or B with passenger (P) endorsement and enhancement
  • Experience with motor coach driving or minimum transit experience (transit includes city buses, school buses, or trucks – truck drivers must have P endorsement)
  • Able to calculate passenger fares and provide correct change
  • Ability to complete trip sheets, pre/post bus inspection sheets, and vehicle inspection report clearly and in a legible manner
  • Capable of operating and communicating clearly on a telephone and/or a two-way radio
  • Able to speak English fluently
  • Minimum age for drivers is 21 with no driving infractions on record
  • Drivers with up to two minor moving violations or no major violations in the past 36 months will be considered at the minimum age of 22-23

How to Obtain Your CDL:

When you are ready to apply for your first commercial driver license, you will go to your local Secretary of State office with the following items:

  • Your driver license
  • Proof of your Social Security number
  • Acceptable proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate, passport, etc.) or Permanent Resident Card

Upon arriving at the Secretary of State office, you will fill out the CDL certification form, which includes meeting the CDL medical qualifications. You must also meet the driver eligibility requirements and pass the required knowledge and vision tests. All CDL knowledge tests are administered on the computer at Secretary of State. A minimum passing score of 80% is required to pass each test. You can take all the tests on the same day; however, you can only take each test once. If you need to retake a test, you must go back to the Secretary of State office the following business day. The CDL Group B knowledge test is 50 questions and the passenger endorsement knowledge test is 20 questions; both require a skills test after training.

Once you finish these knowledge tests, you will be given your CDL commercial learner’s permit (CLP), which allows you to practice driving under the supervision of a driver trainer and is required for taking the CDL skills tests. You will also need to obtain your chauffeur license before processing your CDL license. To receive the required training and to take your skills test, you can either do so through a third party state certified commercial vehicle training center or truck driving school.

How to Request a Quote

So, you have an event coming up and you know you need a vehicle, but you’re not sure where to start? We can help! In this article we’ll guide you through the process of selecting the vehicle that’s right for you and requesting a quote.

  1. Consider the specs of your trip. How long will your trip be? How far is your destination? Will you need room or storage for luggage/equipment? What is the vehicle being used for (i.e. athletic event transportation, a night out, etc.)?
  2. Determine the size and needs of your group. How many people are traveling with you? If the trip is longer, will your group benefit from an on-board restroom? Do you need a handicap accessible vehicle?
  3. Take a look at our fleet. Based on the items above, choose the vehicle that is right for you. You can also read our article about our different vehicles and their uses here to help you pick the one that best suits your needs.
  4. Request a quote online. There is a handy “Request a Quote” button at the top right corner of every page on our website – click it to request a quote for the vehicle of your choice!
  5. Request a quote via telephone. If you’d rather request a quote over the phone, you can call our reservations specialists at 877-284-4200 and they will happily assist you.
