July 2023 – For the 9th year in a row, Faster Horses has taken over the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, to put on their three-day country music festival. Camping, dancing, and singing are the three main staples of this music-filled weekend! This year, more than 40,000 people attended and enjoyed a star-studded lineup.
Shania Twain, Luke Bryant and Zac Brown headlined the festival filled with over 30 Country Performers during the 3 day event.
We are proud to have partnered with Faster Horses for our 5th year as the on-site shuttle provider for daily transportation to and from the campgrounds and the festival. Our Trinity On-Site Supervisor stated “The three-day Faster Horses event was another success this year! Transporting thousands of passengers between various on-site locations, our drivers did an excellent job. We were delighted to be a part of the festival again and look forward to continuing this partnership.” Each year, our drivers enjoy meeting new riders and ensuring everyone gets to their destination safely and on time!

The 2019 JCC Maccabi Games and ArtsFest took place in
Detroit from August 4th through 9th and Trinity
Transportation was the shuttle provider for athletes, their families, coaches, and
spectators. The Maccabi Games are an Olympic-style sporting competition for ages
12–16 and are held each summer in North America. The Games are the second
largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world. Over 1,600 teens
participated in the Detroit JCC Maccabi Games this year, competing in sports
such as baseball, ice hockey, volleyball, dance, and swimming. The athletes
compete in their specific sport throughout the week.
Trinity had a total of 70 drivers working the event from all
of our locations. Our drivers worked together to transport participants to and
from the airport, hotels, and temples, and from game to game. In addition to
these shuttles, 40 of our buses transported 1,300 kids from the JCC to the
Majestic Theatre in Detroit for a celebration at the beginning of the week where
the kids were able to mingle, dance, and eat.
Trinity Transportation Charter Manager Scott Wallace was one
of the supervisors for our shuttle services and said the event went smoothly.
He stated, “Our drivers did very well! Everything went smoothly the rest of the
week, and we were successful in transporting 40 buses from West Bloomfield to
Downtown Detroit for the event at the Majestic Theatre.”
Bob Canvassar, Maccabi Games transportation coordinator,
complimented one of our drivers for the great job she did. He said, “Your
driver, Jeri, ensured that no one was left behind by returning to the pick-up
location. Very nice of her to do that!”
Overall, the 2019 JCC Maccabi Games in Detroit were a
success and we are proud to have been their transportation partner for the
second time!

Getting ready to go back to school is a fun and exciting time for most families, from finding out who will be your child’s teacher for the year to buying new supplies and clothing; however, for some families, this time is more of a challenging one. Financial struggles and access to certain amenities can be a burden during the preparation for each new school year, but Operation Backpack is determined to change that. Every year, Operation Backpack provides backpacks filled with school supplies, toiletries, and reusable water bottles to children in need so they can have the necessary items to be prepared and ready to learn.
Trinity Transportation was proud to donate backpacks for this year’s Back to School Rally put on by Operation Backpack for River Rouge schools. The event was held at River Rouge High School on Friday, August 24th, 2018, and was full of families having fun and enjoying the last of summer break. There were bounce houses with slides, free food and bottled water, various vendors, free haircuts, backpacks filled with supplies being handed out, and much more! Home Depot was giving kids aprons to wear and write their names on and had a table where kids could create their very own toolboxes!
The River Rouge Back to School Rally was a great success and we are so honored to have been a partner!

At the end of June, Wayne State University put on their annual week-long baseball camp in partnership with the Detroit Tigers and Trinity Transportation! Kids ages 7-18 came from all around the Metro Detroit area to advance their baseball skills and learn from the best at this camp. The participating kids visited Comerica Park where they were able to go onto the field for batting practice, received a special tour, and spent time with the players and coaches. The camp ended with the participating kids receiving a tour of WSU’s campus and spending time with WSU’s baseball players and coaches who taught the campers new drills and exercises and showed them what it’s like to be a collegiate athlete. We are proud to support our future baseball players by providing the transportation for this annual camp!
WSU head coach Ryan Kelley said, “It was an exciting and action-packed week of baseball at our annual summer camp. We hope all participants enjoyed spending their time with us in a combined MLB and NCAA environment in our great baseball city of Detroit! I would like to thank the Detroit Tigers Foundation for outstanding leadership, support, and a commitment to helping provide a great experience for all participants. I would also like to thank all of our camp staff, which included current and former NCAA baseball student-athletes, high school coaches, select youth coaches, and former professional baseball players. Plus, Trinity Transportation was instrumental in helping with our ground transportation during camp. On behalf of our camp staff, I would like to wish all participants a great deal of success on and off the field for the remainder of this summer and look forward to seeing you again at future events.”
The week filled with baseball was a success and we are so happy to have been a part of it!

We are excited to announce that Trinity Transportation has become the transportation provider for six schools in the Detroit Public Schools Community District and four charter schools in northwest Detroit! Trinity’s buses will take students to and from school and to and from after-school programs at the Northwest Activities Center. In an effort to keep security high, the city will be implementing a card-swiping system on the buses and at the Northwest Activities Center. This system will send text messages to parents when their children enter and exit the school bus, and when they go to and from after-school programs. As with a lot of our current routes, the buses for these schools will have two adults on board at all times: a driver and an attendant. We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Detroit Public Schools and look forward to helping with the growth of our future students!

Gleaners Community Food Bank works hard every day to provide meals to families in need in Southeast Michigan. The holidays are a popular time for food donations, but the contributions tend to slow down in the spring. To help combat the decrease in donations, Gleaners hosts their Food Fight every year, where companies and organizations participate in a friendly competition to raise the most meals through food and monetary donations.
This year, Trinity participated in the Food Fight with 31 other organizations and companies to help ensure families don’t have to go without a meal this spring. We raised 500 pounds of food, which equals out to 415 meals!
Every season can be the season of giving – those in need in our community need food year round, and food banks like Gleaners are always accepting donations. We are proud to have helped in their efforts to feed our community!

At Trinity Transportation we pride ourselves in making safety our number one priority. Safety is the most important thing to be focused on and practiced when operating a vehicle. In order to ensure our drivers are taking the necessary precautions before, during, and after operating their vehicles, we have monthly safety meetings at each of our terminals.
In December, Trinity’s operations and safety departments put on their monthly safety meeting with the help of Safety Claus! Regional Operations Manager Dave Holls dressed up as Safety Claus to add a fun touch to learning about safety.
The meeting was required for all school bus employees and was headed by Safety Director Carl Ingram and School Bus Training Manager Derrick Ingram. They discussed the different tactics of staying safe on the road while driving a school bus (and being an aide!). Many topics were covered, including proper safety procedures, distracted driving, and having heightened awareness while on the road. There were even some fun quizzes thrown in the presentation!
Our employees are prepared to work together and practice all safety procedures learned in order to reach our goal of becoming the safest transportation company!

Christmas is an exciting time, with joy and love filling the air. It’s the season where we spend time with loved ones, celebrate the wonderful memories surrounding this wonderful holiday, and give to those in need if we can. To celebrate Christmas, each of our terminals held potlucks over the past two weeks, where Trinity provided the main dishes and employees brought in their favorite holiday foods!
Each morning started off with a safety meeting held by our very own Safety Claus! Safety Claus, Safety Director Carl Ingram, and School Bus Training Manager Derrick Ingram discussed the different tactics of staying safe on the road while driving a school bus (and being an aide!). Topics covered included distracted driving, proper safety procedures, and having heightened awareness while on the road. Our goal is to become the safest transportation company!
After the safety meeting, it was time to eat! Employees at each terminal reveled in each other’s company while enjoying some delicious food. The potlucks were full of laughter, joy, and plenty of holiday spirit.

National School Bus Safety Week is an educational program that encourages students, faculty, parents, and anyone interested to learn about and spread the significance of school bus safety. This week is important for publicizing the safety procedures and dangers associated with school bus transportation.
National School Bus Safety Week takes place every year during the third week of October. This year, October 16th through 20th was National School Bus Safety Week, and Trinity participated by practicing and reviewing school bus safety! This year’s theme was “Stop on Red”, a reminder to always stop when a school bus’s stop sign is out and the red lights are flashing.
Trinity Transportation’s school bus drivers and aides attended Special Saturday on October 14th to kick off National School Bus Safety Week. The day consisted of different classes and training focused on children with special needs, including bus evacuations, learning about children with different disabilities, positive approach to behavior management, and team building strategies.
School bus safety is extremely important, not only for students and bus drivers, but for parents, automobile drivers, and pedestrians. For more information about school bus safety, check out our article!

For some families, getting ready to go back to school can be a stressful time. Between purchasing backpacks and school supplies to clothes and shoes, it can be hard to cover the costs. This is where Operation Backpack steps in. Operation Backpack provides backpacks filled with school supplies, toiletries, and water bottles to children in need so they can enter the school year prepared and ready to learn.
Trinity Transportation was proud to provide backpacks for the Operation Backpack Back to School Rally on Friday, August 25th, 2017, at River Rouge High School. The event was packed with families enjoying all of the fun activities on a nice summer day. There were three bounce houses with slides, free food and bottled water, school information (and information from various vendors), a slush machine, and much more. Paws from the Detroit Tigers even made an appearance! Home Depot handed out boats for the kids to build and aprons for them to wear (and write their names on!), and Metro PCS was taking individual photos and printing them off with a special frame for families to take home.
Tarence Wheeler, Operation Backpack organizer, said of the event: “Because of our great partnership with Trinity Transportation, we provided over 1,500 backpacks stuffed with school supplies & toiletries for students. We know that student success is predicated on adult participation. Collectively we can alleviate all non-academic barriers.”
The River Rouge Operation Backpack rally was extremely successful and we are honored to have been a partner!
