New Year, New Goals

Wednesday, January 10th, 2018

2018 is here! We’re excited and ready to set and achieve new goals. Whether your goals are personal, work-related, or otherwise, now is the time to set and start working towards them. The most important thing to remember is to choose realistic goals – don’t bite off more than you can chew or you won’t be able to stick to it!

When visiting the terminals for Christmas, we asked employees what their resolutions were for 2018. One popular resolution from our employees was saving money, and another was to grow as a person and stay happy. One of our employees also would like to be better informed, more involved, and dedicated – a great resolution for this year! Feel free to take some inspiration from the goals they’ve set for themselves!

Trinity Transportation Partners with Forgotten Harvest

The holidays are a special time – a time full of joy, family, and giving. While enjoying this holiday season, be thankful for what you have and, if you can, give to those who are not as fortunate. Michigan’s official poverty rate in 2016 was 15 percent, with 1.45 million people living in poverty. The breakdown for the residents who live in poverty in the counties of Southeast Michigan is as follows:

  • 22..7% of Wayne County residents
  • 16.7% of Sanilac County residents
  • 14.2% of Washtenaw County residents
  • 13.9% of St. Clair County residents
  • 13.2% of Jackson County residents
  • 12.5% of Lenawee County residents
  • 11.6% of Livingston County residents
  • 10.8% of Macomb County residents
  • 9.7% of Monroe County residents
  • 8.5% of Oakland County residents

To help those in need this holiday, the employees at Trinity participated in our company’s second annual food drive. This year, we partnered with Forgotten Harvest, a non-profit dedicated to relieving hunger in Metro Detroit and preventing nutritious food waste. The employees at each of our 11 terminals participated in the collection of non-perishable food items from October 23rd to November 17th, where we were able to donate over 1,000 items!

We would like to give a big, heartfelt thank you to all employees who participated. Your donations will provide many meals to families in need. We are so happy we were able to help our neighbors in need this holiday season!
