I Went to Prom Looking like a Rock Star

Depending on who you ask, the most important night of a high school student’s life can vary. Most parents will tell you that their child’s graduation night is the most special event for them. But if you ask their children, they will most likely tell you…prom night!

Usually the first thing on the list for prom is the young lady’s dress or the young man’s tuxedo. But after that, all they can think about is that sweet ride to and from the prom venue!
The search for prom transportation will usually begin with, get ready – limousines. Now this is perfectly acceptable, but let’s be honest, do you really want to settle for “acceptable” on one of the most important nights of your high school life?

If you’re looking to set your group of friends apart from everyone else, then you should consider booking a motor coach bus. Here’s why:

  • Fit all of your friends on board – Most limousines will be able to accommodate 12-20 passengers. When booking a motor coach bus with Trinity Transportation, you can book as small as a 25 passenger mini coach and as big as a 56 passenger full sized motor coach. That way more of your friends can join your prom party and help cover the cost. And considering most of the young ladies will be wearing “larger than life” dresses, you’ll appreciate the extra space versus a narrow limo.Limo Bus
  • Quality equipment guaranteed – Most limousine services only run their vehicles within a certain mile radius. But a lot of motor coach companies take their vehicles all over the country, which means they have to be equipped with high quality parts and must be able to withstand thousands of miles at a time. Now we know your prom is probably no more than 30 minutes away from the pick-up point, but knowing that you’ve booked a vehicle that is heavy duty and with a company that is an expert in repairs or solving break down issues will give you a sense of relief. Also, there’s a bathroom included!
  • Show up like a rock star – While everyone is pulling up into their standard stretch limo, you and your friends can roll up in your motor coach bus (Ok, I guess we can call it a party bus for one night!). A lot of students attending prom don’t just want to have fun at the venue but also on the way there. The party bus will allow students to hook up their own music and have a great a time as soon as they get picked up. Trinity offers a 56 passenger motor coach, our 25-35 mini coaches, and if you feel the need to still get a little bit of that “limo feel” for your prom, we also offer a 28 passenger black limo bus.

Trinity Transportation has a strict “no drinking” policy for underage students and our drivers are trained to enforce this policy by working with parents to ensure their children behave in a safe and responsible manner while traveling to and from the prom venue.

Spring is in the Air – Rallying Your Team

Monday, March 9th, 2015

Angel Collins
Senior Reservations Specialist

Greetings Everyone,

For those who don’t know me, I’m Angel, the Senior Reservations Specialist at Trinity Transportation. I would like to start off by saying THANK YOU to everyone for doing such an amazing job this winter. I know it is really hard waking up early in this very cold weather and coming into work, especially if you are going out to drive all day.

Now we have to look forward to our crazy spring season! It  will be much nicer weather but it will call for much more demanding work.

There will be times where we might have to lend a hand to another part of the Trinity team to make sure that the job is done correctly and efficiently. But that is what makes Trinity a family. We help each other out when needed to ensure our customers receive the best possible experience!

Last spring we had some amazing drivers go above and beyond to help out the new drivers and anyone else in need. I am hopeful that we can get that same type of attitude from everyone this spring.

Again thank you everyone for all that you had to endure through the rough winter. Spring here we come! Go Team Trinity!

3 Wedding Day Transportation Tips I Followed That Made My Wedding Day Perfect

Tuesday, February 17th, 2015

The Dress. The Flowers. The Food. The Hair.

There seems to be a never ending list of to-do’s for your wedding with very limited time. Aside from those mentioned above, one thing that can make or break your big day is the transportation for you and your guests.

Photo by Emma Bauso from Pexels

Whether you have a small or large group at your wedding, worrying about transporting people in a timely fashion from destination to destination can be frightening. The Knot, a site dedicated to giving you the best wedding advice and options, offers a pretty comprehensive guide when it comes to a game plan for your special day’s trips.

I spoke to our Reservation’s Specialist, Stephanie, who books hundreds of weddings a year and here were her 3 tips on how to make wedding transportation stress free for the Bride:

Preschedule Shuttle Departures: So you are having your wedding guests shuttled from Point A to the Church, and then to your reception venue? Planning out each and every stop your shuttle bus or motorcoach bus will make can help organize your day and will ensure each pick-up and drop-off to be on time. We all know pictures are key on a Wedding Day, so be sure to include 20-30 minutes extra at each location for your photographer. You can also save money by properly booking the right size of transportation. For example, if you have 50 guests being shuttled from a hotel to a Wedding Hall that are in close proximity, you might be able to book a 25 passenger Mini Coach that runs 2 trips rather than a full size coach.

Designate an On-site Contact: It’s your Wedding Day. You need to be thinking about starting a new life with the one you love, not transporting your guests around. Find someone else to do it! You most likely want to pick someone you trust will be able to handle a bit of stress but also keep things moving, such as a sibling, parent or close friend. This person can not only assist the wedding guests with riding around in the shuttles, but they can be a huge help to the motorcoach driver as the one person they take orders from.

Choose the service that’s right for you: Weddings can include 10 guests or 200 guests. Sometimes changes will have to be made last minute to your transportation booking, such as needing a bigger vehicle or increasing the amount of time you need the services for. Choose a reputable company that will be extremely flexible and will go the extra mile to take the stress off of you when it comes to booking and last minute changes.

Trinity Transportation not only offers full size and mini coaches, but we also offer shuttle vans and a limo bus for weddings. Within the last few years, the amount of weddings that we’ve serviced has grown exponentially. We have drivers who are very experienced in helping to create a memorable day for everyone involved.

The Paper Route – Importance of Employee Referrals

Thursday, February 5th, 2015

Austin Arksey
Sales Director

At the age of 12, every afternoon when I got off the bus and 5 A.M. on the weekends, I was reminded of my two mile paper route that lie ahead. I recollect back to my shiny, blue, spray painted wagon filled with rolled up news from around the world.

I quickly learned the value of being on time. When I committed to the job, one of the requirements was to have the paper delivered by 5 P.M. on the weekdays and 8 A.M. on the weekends. If it was raining, the paper had to be delivered on time. If I had to trek through 8 inches of snow, the paper had to be delivered on time. If it was freezing cold or sweltering with heat outside, you guessed it, the paper still had to be delivered on time.

I followed three simple rules when I did my route. Arrive on time, treat people the way you want to be treated, and deliver a quality product. As I did these three simple things I found that my paper route began to grow and eventually doubled.

Now keep in mind, I wasn’t spending any dollar amount on advertising. I didn’t beg people to join and I wasn’t giving the paper away for free. I relied strictly on referrals and word of mouth. I knew that if I followed those three simple things my route would continue to grow eventually resulting in more money in my pocket.

What I learned from that paper route can be translated into our careers today. Arrive on time to the pickup, treat students, teachers and parents the way we want to be treated, and drive safely. If we follow these steps we can easily continue to grow our customer base which will result in a need for more drivers.

Referrals are a great way to get qualified people in front of our hiring team and more money in your pocket. Our team at Trinity has recently started a generous referral bonus. For every experienced school bus or motor coach driver you refer you receive $250 once they reach their 90 day anniversary. There is no limit to the amount of people you can refer and it’s a great way to make extra money.

Whether you’re delivering papers or transporting people, make sure to take advantage of the referral bonus!

Transportation Angels on Wheels – By Carl IngramCarl Ingram Safety Director

Each day in the state of Michigan, students are being transported to and from school safely by caring bus individuals such as Drivers, Bus Attendants, Para-Pro’s, and Nurses while riding on the yellow school bus.  Not to mention all the people working behind the scene daily.  These dedicated people go well beyond the call of duty in providing a safe haven for our future generation and building relationships that can last a lifetime.

These angels on wheels protect students from being bullied during their ride by displaying positive behavior and creating a respectful environment for all students.  Many of these professionals nurture students by teaching them to read a book during their daily commute.  Their job is to always be on the lookout for danger that a child may not see coming, such as the recent incident that made national news where a driver lost his life while trying to protect his students. Even in the face of danger this driver did not hesitate to defend his students on board his bus.

As drivers, bus attendants, para-pro’s, and nurses get ready to depart the bus lot, you can hear them saying “let me go pickup my babies” or “little darlings.” You know that they have pride in what they are doing by showing love as they travel the road ahead. Many of them even volunteer at school functions and show support by attending sporting events just to see the smiles on the students’ faces.  So I say to each one of these employees on the yellow school bus, you have indeed earned your “Wings” as a protector of our future generation.  Therefore, we can assure parents that their children are in good hands each day when they are being transported here in Michigan and beyond, so be safe as you travel the road ahead!

Welcome Backpic

Welcome back to all of our school bus drivers and aides who were off for the summer and thanks to all of those who helped out with summer field trips and routes. You are much appreciated for your time and patience! We look forward to another school year with all of you!

Teamwork was in full effect this summer while we provided service to the JCC summer camps. Every summer, the Jewish Community Center offers more than 100 programs and trips to the area’s youth. This was the first year we handled both national and local trips and it was a huge success! The trips were a collaborative effort amongst the school bus and motorcoach departments. A big Thank You to everyone who helped build our relationship with JCC. Craig Kimball, Bobby Stubbs, and Lamont Twitty were all key members in helping the local school bus trips run smoothly and efficiently. They provided excellent assistance to campers, parents, counselors, and other drivers. On behalf of everyone you helped, thanks for your commitment to our team!

Trinity Student Delivery Keeping Our Children Safe

Friday, August 23rd, 2013

Trinity Student Delivery is always in the business of keeping kids safe. In fact, it’s our number one priority! This week, though, we’ve been part of two major news stories about keeping our kids safe.

We’ve partnered with Saginaw Charter Academy to provide transportation to their students for the first time. With the recent changes in school districts in the area, many students were left without school transportation. Our school bus routes will keep many students from walking to school. Contact the school for more information about routes. See the full story on ABC12.com.

In Lake Township, OH, Rossford students and staff were part of a real-time training where an actor portrayed a gunman taking hostage of the bus. A SWAT team was also involved in the exercise and shared some life saving tips with students. See the full story on Toledo News Now.

If you’re interested in learning more about Trinity Student Delivery’s safety training, please contact Alana Tobis at alanat@trinitytransportation.com
