Food, Crafts and Fun at the Ann Arbor Art Fair

Wednesday, July 19th, 2017

Hundreds of artists and visitors will be heading to Ann Arbor this week to take part in the Ann Arbor Art Fair. From July 20-23, the Ann Arbor Art Fair hosts several different fairs, all located in or near downtown Ann Arbor. There will be a variety of artists showing off and selling their art all weekend long. You can find everything from highly contemporary works to very traditional crafts including glass, painting, ceramics, photography, jewelry, fiber, wood and more! There will also be several food courts set up throughout the street fair serving delicious food and drinks.

Trinity will be providing a shuttle to the art fair from Huron High School. We will offer two different drop off points: Fletcher and Washington and South University at Forest. Parking is free at Huron High school and the round-trip ticket cost is $3 for adults and is free for children under five. Our shuttle will be available on Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Trinity will also be providing a shuttle leaving from Pioneer High school on Sunday only from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with $3 round trips and free rides for children under five.

Employee Appreciation at Trinity Transportation!

Tuesday, July 18th, 2017

Trinity Transportation takes pride in giving back to all of the hard working employees. An event outside of work was scheduled as a way for the company to thank all of the dispatchers for all their hard work this past year. The idea of going to Painting with a Twist had come up, and Human Resources took the lead with organizing the event. Painting with a twist pairs instructional art with a lively instructor to produce works of art. Step by step instructions with experienced and enthusiastic local artists take place to make for a fun memory.

All dispatchers from all locations within all 3 divisions were invited to come and enjoy a night painting with their fellow coworkers. Trinity Transportation’s Regional Operations Manager, Dave Holls, was also in attendance. “Trinity has over 35 dispatchers throughout its many divisions and locations, and each of them works hard to ensure our operations run smoothly 24 hours a day. It can be a challenging position at times, especially during our busy seasons, but as an organization we always want to recognize the efforts of our team. That is why we organized this dispatcher appreciation event. It allowed our team to get together outside of work, have some fun, and we could thank them for all that they do.”

Trinity Transportation plans to do fun outside of work activities like this for all of their departments as a way to give back and thank them for all of their hard work!

Fun in the Sun at Trinity Transportation’s Annual Employee Picnic

Thursday, July 13th, 2017

Trinity Transportation held their Annual Company Picnic on Saturday, June 17th 2017, at Lake Erie Metropark to show appreciation for their employees. It turned out to be a perfect day to enjoy delicious food, music, prizes and relax with some friendly faces.

Celebrating a company who has brought so many families together for over 35 years takes place every year in June. With terminals all across Southeast Michigan and one in Ohio, hundreds of employees and their families all come out for a picnic put on by management to show appreciation for all of their hard work. The day was filled with warm weather, waterslides and bounce houses for kids, ice-cream trucks, a DJ, delicious food and loads of prizes to win! There was no better way to celebrate the beginning of summer.

Prizes this year ranged from grills to bikes. Each employee received a raffle ticket as they checked in to the picnic. Anticipation arose as each raffle ticket was called off by Human Resources Director, Renee Thornton.

While the picnic was wrapping up at around 5:00 p.m., there was a lot of food left over. Trinity Transportation’s President, Jerry Sheppard, decided it would be great to have the food donated to those in need. Over 1,000 lbs. of food was donated to Feeding Detroit and Downriver Area, which is a community-based group who help the less fortunate and are “funded” 100% by donations. Those donations were able to feed over 94 people. Days later, the group picked up several boxes of cookies, chips and other snacks which were being donated as well.

To see all the fun Trinity employees had with their friends and family, check out the pictures on our Facebook.

Looking to join in on the fun next year? Trinity Transportation is always hiring.

Summer Getaways in Michigan

Wednesday, June 21st, 2017

It’s officially summer! Time to break out the sun screen and take time off work to enjoy all the activities Michigan has to offer. Below we have listed some of our favorite locations in Michigan to enjoy the weather. Don’t forget about Trinity’s vast fleet of vehicles that can solve any of your transportation needs this summer!

Porcupine Mountains

The Porcupine Mountains in Ontonagon, Michigan is a perfect getaway for the adventurous type. There are several activities you can participate in, including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking and hiking.

Traverse City

One of Michigan’s most beautiful beach towns is Traverse City. Play along miles of sugar-sand beaches, visit the magnificent Sleeping Bear Dunes, sail on a Tall Ship, watch a parade, go to a drive-in movie, or eat cherry pie from the Cherry Capital of the World.

Mackinac Island

Mackinac has a wide variety of things to do on the island. Biking is a popular past time with over 70 miles of natural and paved trails. Bicycles are available to rent in a wide array from single-speed, five-speed, ten-speed, tandems, etc… Visiting the Grand Hotel is something that I suggest everyone does on Mackinac Island. Built during the Victorian era, this enormous hotel is stunning and well groomed, hosting a variety of colorful plants and flowers.

Camping

Michigan has a number of state and private campgrounds individuals can appreciate. Enjoy camping near sandy beaches, lighthouses and bays. Hop a ferry to Mackinac Island, a charming auto-free vacation escape. Inland, lakes and rivers sparkle amid pine forests, where a tent, cabin or RV makes a great base for fishing, hiking and other outdoor pursuits.
