CDL Shuttle Driver – Metro Detroit

Core Responsibilities:

Drives shuttle bus to transport client passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule; as directed, responds to requests from dispatch for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs. Maintains a high level of customer service at all times.

Pay: Starting at $13.25


  • Drives shuttle to designated stops and returns to designated location.
  • Assists passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Assists passengers in moving, loading and unloading baggage and packages as needed.
  • Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Operates shuttle safely and efficiently.
  • Complies with local traffic regulations; drives safely in all situations.
  • Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies Dispatch of potential problems, delays, accidents or other situations using radio, or similar device.
  • Completes mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to written procedure. (see written policy)
  • On a daily basis, and after each trip, completes Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVR) and submits it to Maintenance Shop.
  • Keeps interior of vehicle neat and orderly at all times, including removing garbage waste.
  • Keeps passenger headcount throughout the trip and checks headcount prior to moving the bus.
  • Informs passengers of Trinity Transportation Shuttle Bus Safety Rules.
  • Enforces Trinity Transportation Bus Safety Rules in a polite, firm, consistent manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with bus transportation rules and regulations promulgated by local, state and federal agencies.
  • Responsible to learn and remember the location of passenger pick-up and destination points serviced by the Trinity Transportation fleet, including lodging, entertainment and attraction sites; be able to communicate these to guests, co-workers and other persons.
  • Communicates with and treats all guests, customers, passengers, fellow bus drivers and all Trinity personnel in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
  • Notifies dispatcher of any civil driving infraction, receipt of traffic ticket, etc. as soon as it occurs.
  • Ensures that vehicle is properly fueled at end of trip, prior to shut-down.
  • Ensures that bus is parked correctly on Trinity Transportation lot.
  • Will not play the radio, wear a bluetooth or talk unnecessarily on the two way radio.
  • Complies with all Trinity Transportation Employee Handbook Rules and Regulations.
  • Complies with all Trinity Transportation Uniform and grooming standards.
  • Reports personal absence according to Trinity Transportation Absence Policy.
  • Performs other duties as requested by dispatch or supervision.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid MI CDL Drivers License with Passenger endorsement and enhancement, or ability to get enhancement within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to calculate passenger fares, provide correct change, and complete trip sheets, pre/post bus inspections sheets, and vehicle inspection report clearly and in a legible manner.
  • Must be able to speak fluent English.
  • Must be able to operate and communicate clearly on a telephone and/or a two-way radio.
  • Minimum age for drivers is 21 with no driving infractions on record. Drivers with up to one minor moving violation will be considered at minimum age 22-23.
